Australian multi instrumentalist & composer, Mark J Turner, creates emotive & soulful compositions inspired by a love of travel & global sounds.
Recorded in Nyapari, APY Lands, his debut release 'Wanderlust' depicts the highs & lows of his many adventures around Australia & the world.
Heavily influenced & inspired by a love of travel & global sounds, his compositions draw parallels to the instrumental works of The Shadows, the earthy blues of Jimi Hendrix & Stevie Ray Vaughan and the dusty grind of Australian artists such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Cam Butler & John Butler Trio.
Mark currently resides in Adelaide, Australia after living & working in the remote Central Australian Desert in the isolated community of Nyapari, APY Lands. This experience was the catalyst for debut EP ‘Wanderlust’, which was primarily recorded & arranged in Nyapari Community.
This release is a culmination of travels & adventures over the years both in Australia & overseas, striving to bring to life the sights, sounds, highs & lows experienced along the way.Mark performs most of the instrumentation on this composition himself, with some wonderful contributions on violin from the talented Rachel Snow & Phil Samuels.
